The Federal Budget delivered by Treasurer Wayne Swan on Tuesday night contained several announcements that, whilst not necessarily unexpected, will impact the NFP sector significantly in the coming years.

Commitment to the National Disability
Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Foreign Aid cut

The Government previously committed to increasing foreign aid to reach 0.5 percent of Gross National Income by 2015-16. This target achievement has been delayed by a year, which decreases the foreign aid budget by $2.9 billion over the next four years.

This decision will impact organisations providing foreign aid and may require reassessment of program goals and budgets over the coming years.
